You've seen the chair. At the thrift store. At an estate sale. On Marketplace. Maybe it's been sitting in your house for years.
The frame is good. The shape is beautiful. The fabric? Absolutely not.
RE:FRAME is a small, hands-on upholstery workshop designed to help beginners stop walking past good furniture because they don't know what happens next. Bring an approved piece, roll up your sleeves, and niCo will walk you through the process of understanding how upholstered furniture was built—and how to put it back together.
This isn't a demonstration. You'll be doing the work.

Photograph, mark and measure so the original upholstery becomes your roadmap.
Tear down with intention
Remove upholstery carefully while preserving useful patterns and construction clues.

Assess what can be reused, what needs replacing, and where your fabric will go.
Put your hands to work
Practice positioning, fastening and finishing techniques on your approved project.

Leave with a clearer process and a take-home checklist for your next find.
Completing a piece within the three-hour workshop is the goal!
Before you book
Bring a piece we can work on safely.
Good candidates include removable dining chair seats, small footstools, simple benches and similarly straightforward pieces.
Not a fit for this session: springs, deep tufting, extensive sewing, major structural repairs, mold, pests or unsafe frames.
Your piece is reviewed after purchase. Registration does not automatically approve every piece. If your first choice is too complex, we'll help you identify a simpler piece for this beginner session.
After checkout, submit your piece
- Photograph the front, back, underside and any damage.
- Measure width, depth and height; include seat dimensions where relevant.
- Tell us what you hope to change and share your fabric plan.
- Email everything with your order number to info@houseofnambili.com.
We'll review your project and send guidance before workshop day. No photo upload is needed to reserve a seat.

- Use of manual staple guns and staple pullers, with staples and Dacron provided for workshop use

niCo of House of Nambili brings a maker's eye and hands-on upholstery practice to each project. You'll learn how to read the piece in front of you, make thoughtful decisions, and build confidence through doing.

Questions before you book?
Do I need experience?
No. This workshop is designed for beginners.
Do I need to send photos before I pay?
No. Reserve your seat first. Then email photos, measurements, project details and your fabric plan with your order number so we can review your piece before the event.
Can I bring any chair?
Each piece must be approved. Small, simple projects are best. We cannot accept spring work, deep tufting, extensive sewing, major structural repairs, mold, pests or unsafe frames.
Where is the workshop?
Douglasville, Georgia. The exact address will be shared after the venue is confirmed.
What if fewer than four people sign up?
Four paid registrations are required. If that minimum isn't met, we'll contact registrants about a refund or transfer option.
